Our Missions

World Changers/P2 Combo Project:  This is a partnership ministry with the City of Augusta. Each year, volunteer young people, from throughout the Southeast, visit Augusta to do missions. The City of Augusta provides the material and the young people provide the labor to repair inner city homes. The churches of our association host this great event by providing a place for the youth to stay and also meals during the week.

Disaster Response Ministry:   This ministry helps to rebuild homes in areas effect by natural disasters. For more information contact the Association office.

Partnerships Missions:   The Association currently has a reciprocating partnership with the Allegheny Association of Southern Baptist Baptist in West Virginia, 402 Main Street, Summerville, WV  26651.  For contact information:  Dennis Cherry, DOM, 304-880-8501.

Appalachian Regional Ministry:  Multiple Missions and Ministry Opportunities are available to individual churches and church members.  "Backpacks for Appalachia" Ministry to the poor children and their families located in 13 states.  Contact information:   Bill Barker 606-316-4298, email:, website:

Church Planting:  Planting churches is a vital ministry of the Association. The population of Columbia and Richmond Counties continues to grow. The ever expanding development of housing creates opportunity to plant new churches in those growth areas. We also live in an international city where people from other countries come to live in this area. The need for language missions is a vital part of the church planting ministry.

Church Planting School:  The school starts on June 3, 2014 through May 5, 2015.  It is the first Tuesday of every month from 9:00 a.m..-1:30 p.m.. at The Baptist Center.  Contact information is:  Butch Butcher -  This school is required for Church starts that are requesting GBC financial assistance.  each participant will be expected to read five books and report on each book.  There is no charge for the school.
